Top 5 Euro Summer Jams of 2010
It's been a long and very hot summer in most of Europe. Accordingly, it's also been a banner year for summer jams. I've compiled a totally subjective list of what I think are the top 5 summerifc Eurojams of 2010 for you below. This summer has been brought to you by Romania, the official factory of sun-splashed Eurojams these days.
#1 Inna - "Amazing"
Even though this tune came out in 2009, it is still getting more overall play then Inna's more recent video for "Ten Minutes." The Romanian beauty's song is currently #10 on Billboard's European Hot 100.
#2 Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup - "We No Speak Americano"
Even though this song was actually written by Australians, it's most certainly a Eurojam and "We No Speak Americano" is the unmistakable club hit of 2010. The tune has so far toped dance (and some top 40) charts in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Romania, Scotland, Sweden and Switzerland. If you went to any club in Europe this year, you've heard this track.
#3 Elena Gheorghe - "Disco Romancing"
This is my persoal favorite summer jam, even though the charts may not reflect it in Europe. Just a slamming summer song by the hottest thing going in Bucharest, Elena Gheorghe.
#4 Jessy Matador - "Allez, Ola, Ole"
This summer jam by France's Jessy Matador has been unstoppable in 2010, and for good reason. Relentlessly upbeat, "Allez, Ola, Ole" gets bodies to the dancefloor, quickly. Try not to hum along--we dare you. A chart-topper in France and top 10 earlier this year in several other countries.
#5 Edward Maya - "Stereo Love"
Incredibly, this song somehow manages to be both the summer smash of 2009 and 2010. Released last year, the Romainan's unstoppable track is still racking up club and airplay across Europe. This week, Edward Maya's moody club anthem is currently #25 on BBC's official singles chart after 13 weeks on. The video for "Stereo Love" has racked up a staggering 60 million views since it bowed last year. Who knew accordians were so in demand?
# 6 (honorable metion) Baby Alice - "Pina Colada Boy"
How could we forget this song? Sweden does it right for summer with this jam.
