Fresh Bucharest! Nick Kamarera & Alinka's Hot "Get A Life (Mama Yette)" Clip

God damn this is good. Bucharest-based producer Nick Kamarera & Alinka are about to set spring on fire with this track and new-today-clip called "Get A Life (Mama Yette)," which seems to draw inspiration from American Indian style chants. Unlikely, sure, but it all works out rather splendidly, as you'll see and hear below. Kamarera has been around a while (since 1995, when he first started mixing in the clubs of Timisoara), but "Get A Life" might help raise his profile a bit internationally. Cannot stop jamming this one today. Check it below. (h/t devoratormonden).

Portugal Meets Romania: Anda Adam + Kourosh's "Can U Feel Love" Clip

Here's an interesting pairing: Lisbon's Kourosh Tazmini and Romania's Anda Adam. Together the two have made a track called "Can U Feel Love" and today a video for the track debuted via Germany's Kontor records. Germans aren't exactly feeling it, if you go by the unreliable but sometimes indictative metric of the massive amount of "thumbs down" given on the clip. But the song actually grows on you after repeated listens. Anyway, I find this pairing fascinating and like this tune better than Adam's last single, "Panda Bear" (but not as much as her "Show Me," which I loved).

Bucharest Beats: Chris Mayer + J. Yolo's New "Back To Life" Clip

Happy Monday. Are you back at work? Well Chris Mayer is "Back To Life" today with a just-released video. The Bucharest-based producer/remixer has teamed up with Romania-based rapper J. Yolo and "Back To Life" feels pretty fresh, even though it's a bit formulaic in the David Guetta dance-meets-pop mold. Don't know too much else about Chris, but J. Yolo was just on this blog last month appearing on DJ Sava's recent hit "Free." Check out "Back To Life" below. Would Soul II Soul like it? Quite possibly. "Back To Life" was shot in December in director Iulian Moga's Buftea Studios. The video premiered on MTV in Romania.

Canada+France+Romania = Mia Martina

Canada is turning out to be a goldmine of Europop lately. Who knew such gems were just north of the U.S. border? I've covered Mia Martina on this blog before and now she's back with a new single and video, "Burning." The main English version of the song dropped last week, but a few days ago Mia released the French version of the song and it's even better somehow. The thing that most fascinates me about Mia, however, is the fact she is mining the 'Romanian sound' that has made stars out of names like Inna and Alexandra Stan, yet she's from a small town in Canada. Mia even enlisted Bucharest-based producer Adrian Sina for a track off her debut album (called "Go Crazy"). But "Burning" souds even more Romanian than "Go Crazy" (it was also produced by a lesser known Romanian guy, Ovidiu Bistriceanu), and it's not bad at all. Check it below.

Ex-Morandi Member A "Superstar"

In Romania, anybody can be a superstar. OK, not really, but this week two people are hoping a new video for a song called "Superstars" might help their cause. Julian M, (real name Julian Magureanu) and Veronika (Veronica Tecaru) are two not yet well-known artists in the world of Romanian music. Julian was part of the project Morandi until three years ago and Veronika was a member of the band Wassabi, which disbanded in 2009.  "Superstars", marks the first collaboration between the two.  "The song says expressly that all are equal, each is Superstar in his own way, everyone should be happy, to enjoy the simple things that surround her life and not pay attention to material things," said Veronika in a release. The new clip was directed by Michael Adrian Mircea. (h/t Devorator Monden)
