Oslo Oscillations: Lemâitre's Crazy Clip
Norway does it again. From the Nordic nation that has brought us so many intestesting and disturbing videos comes a clip that lands somewhere in between: Lemâitre's "Sceptics." Released today, this promo might make more sense if you are really, really high. But even if you are not stoned, you'll likely enjoy the visuals, and you will certainly enjoy this duo's brand of electronica. The act lists Daft Punk, Boys Noize, Crystal Castles, Røyksopp and Deadmau5 as just a few of their influences on their Facebook page. There's really nothing else to say, check the epicness below.
Maya Vik Debuts "Oslo Knows" Video
All of Oslo knows it. What do they know? That Maya Vik is the city's answer to former Hole bassist Melissa auf der Maur (in terms of attractiveness, anyway). Musically, she seems to have more in common with Prince than Hole, however, and today the sexy singer/bass player (she also plays bassynthesizer in the band Montee) released a solo video for "Oslo Knows" that features the blonde riding around Norway on horseback (per 730, she actually hurt her back falling off the horse during filming of the clip). Anyway, really nice chilled-out track from Vik from her first solo album, Chateau Faux-Coupe, which just dropped in the fall of 2011. Check the Pål Laukli-directed promo below.
The Next Arcade Fire: Norway's Team Me
I tweeted about this band last year but now I really think Team Me is going to become big, and not just in Norway or England, but in America and Canada, too, by fall (they are playing the influential SXSW conference first in March and will emerege as one of the buzzier bands of the week, I predict). Their songwriting is so strong. Earlier this week they dropped a video for "Show Me," which has already been getting love from big Norwegian radio outlets such as P3. The clip is arty, indie and awesome. But the real star here is the song, which I can't stop listening to. The UK music press is already onto this act and NME had a premiere of the clip two days ago (it just hit You Tube yesterday). The Scandinavian six piece's album To The Treetops! drops March 5th. Check it out below. So good.
Ring In 2012 With A Nude Norwegian!
It's almost 2012, everyone. Are you excited? Well guess who is more excited than you and has already started drinking Champagne in her new video? A singer named "Carya" from Norway! Of course "Carya" is really hot model Cathrine Cornelia Lindh and she gets almost totally naked in this NSFW promo. How this video, which was sent to me by a friend in Oslo, has under 20 views is just beyond me. The song is by a producer simply called "Mr Sexyville" and "Love Engine" is really not bad at all. But this video is just outrageous and proves that as the winter sets in over Fredrikstad, some women are just getting warmed up. Check the clip below but be warned, this NSFW video is not for kids.

Bergen's Best: Meet Lars Vaular ("Pønk")
This is one of the better-looking videos I've seen all month. Bergen's Lars Vaular is new to me but he's certainly not new on the scene in Norway (fun fact: he is the cousin of artist Sondre Lerche). The rapper has several outstanding tracks and clips up on You Tube and clearly he's a name of note in his country, which as I've mentioned several times before on this blog, has one of the best hip-hop scenes in the world. "Aldri For Pen For Pønk" translates roughly to "never too pretty for punk" and Andrew Amorim directed this arresting yet beautiful clip, which Kingsize Norway calls "one of the more atypical rap videos in Norwegian hip-hop history." I'd say. Take a look at the released earlier this month promo below. Looks like an edgy Vogue magazine fashion spread come to life.
