Italians In Space: Meet New Universal Music Italia Act Fullstop (Debut Clip)

Who wants to take a trip to space today? You? OK then. Milan-based trio Full Stop are new and freshly signed to Universal Music Italy. Today, they released their debut video for a song called "Non Ho Bisogno Di Te" and it's pretty good, mostly because it was directed/produced by the same guys, Surgarkane, who worked with Jovanotti on his awesome "La Notte Dei Desideri" clip (they also did work on his live DVD release of Ora). Anyway, good electropop song from Full Stop, check it below...a promising start and I bet they have even better songs than this up their sleeve for release later this year.

Awful Yet Awesome Italian R&B/Pop: Sushy's "Don't Kiss Me, Just Eat Me" Clip

Where to begin...oh yes....this song is called "Don't Kiss Me, Just Eat Me." Swear to God that's the actual title of the tune. You simply can't make this stuff up, people. Anyway, Sushy is an Italy-based singer who works with a producer who is actually really good (a guy named Dab). Not sure if he's behind this shameless powerpop R&B grab clearly aimed at a mainstream audience, but someone spent a lot of money on this new video (shot in Rome and uploaded today by Universal Music France). The lyrics are just insane and kind of awful. Proof below that Europe is still just a bit different than America below. Must hear/see to believe.

Snoop Dogg Goes Euro (Again) Via Brighi's "Play Me Like A Violin" (New Clip)

You know which American rapper is always down to guest on a Euro dance track? Snoop Dogg! The d o double gizzle is back in the mix today via a new video alongside Hungarian singer Bridgitta (she was a singer in a Hungarian TV Show called RTL Klub's 'Csillag Születik'). Anyway, "Play Me Like A Violin" is brought to you by Spanish label Blanco y Negro + Hi-Klass music, the same Italian company who were behind The Glam (which featured U.S. rapper Flo Rida). And as we all know, Snoop Dogg has guest rapped on tracks from Russian, German and even Bulgarian artists. If you have money and/or weed, Snoop will appear on your europop, eurodance or eurorap track, people. Spread the word!

Your (Italian) Monday WTF: Caparezza's Crazy New "Kevin Spacey" Clip

Few other artists in Italy can do crazy (in a fun way) like Caparezza can, and today, the eccentric artist who sometimes raps dropped an insane clip for a song simply called "Kevin Spacey." Swear to God I'm not making any of this up. The video was filmed during Capa's recent U.S. mini tour (as part of "Hitweek") on location in L.A. and NYC. And yes, the song and video feature the living legend that is Kevin Spacey. Don't ask me to translate why, exactly, Capa is obsessed with the American actor, just be glad this video (brand new today) exists. To learn more about 'Hitweek' here's a preview I wrote late last year for the L.A. Times with a few quotes from Caparezza.

Laura Pausini Debuts "Bastava" Video

Arguably Italy's biggest female pop star, Laura Pausini, has released her official video for "Bastava." The tune is the third single off her latest disc and the song has a unique history. "Bastava" was proposed by Eleonora Crupi in Sanremo Lab, to no avail. But Laura wanted to adapt the tune. "It's a very personal song," said Pausini in a release. "Together with Nicholas we have changed some parts of the existing text to make it more mine," she added. "I love this song and I feel a strong emotion in being the interpreter now because on the one hand, it is really my story." The video was directed by Gaetano Morbiolo and shot partially in Amsterdam. Have a look and listen below to Pausini's latest.
