Budapest Electro Chic: Plastic Heaven's New "Soul Collector" Clip
So you probably think Berlin is the coolest city in Europe. But I've been saying for years Budapest is the next Berlin, and the latest clip from Plastic Heaven is proof Hungary's capital's cool quotient is on the rise. Plastic Heaven released a crazy clip last year that featured some extreme arty nudity. This year, they keep their clothes on, but "Soul Collector," released today, is still a sultry affair. More importantly, the songwriting is strong and the vibe evocative. An interesting trio that represents the cooler side of Budapest's electronic underground. Check it out below.
Clubbing In Budapest: No LMFAO Needed, Just Stereo 2.0 ("Mielőtt Elmennél" Clip)
Have you ever been out drinking after midnight in Budapest? The city has some of the best smaller nightclubs in Europe and Hungarians know how to party. Sure, they like LMFAO there, but you know who also rocks the club in Budapest? Stereo 2.0. The duo just released a video filmed in a club for a catchy new electo-ish jam called "Mielőtt Elmennél" and it gives us all a taste of the wild nightlife the city has on offer. Oh and also, Stereo 2.0 have some very good looking girlfriends who all came down to the video set. Don't believe me? Watch below.
Tóth Gabi Debuts "Nem Kell Végszó" Clip
She's back and back in a big way. Today, Hungarian singer Tóth Gabi revealed her new clip for "Nem Kell Végszó" and it's looking fantastic. I've covered Gabi before on this blog and she's always struck me as one that could break out of Budapest if she ever sang in English. She's looking kind of Medina-esque in this new clip and this song represents the people's choice so far in Hungary to represent them at Eurovision in 2012 (she is one of four remaining possibles to rep the country at ESC). Anyway, the song is about a breakup of sorts and it's quite passionate. I translated as few of the lyrics and they go like this: "You do not have to chase me/not your heart be not be so!/You do not need cue/do not have to call me! Flames of fire, there was passion/Today, the desire is not running/there is no you and me."
Snoop Dogg Goes Euro (Again) Via Brighi's "Play Me Like A Violin" (New Clip)
You know which American rapper is always down to guest on a Euro dance track? Snoop Dogg! The d o double gizzle is back in the mix today via a new video alongside Hungarian singer Bridgitta (she was a singer in a Hungarian TV Show called RTL Klub's 'Csillag Születik'). Anyway, "Play Me Like A Violin" is brought to you by Spanish label Blanco y Negro + Hi-Klass music, the same Italian company who were behind The Glam (which featured U.S. rapper Flo Rida). And as we all know, Snoop Dogg has guest rapped on tracks from Russian, German and even Bulgarian artists. If you have money and/or weed, Snoop will appear on your europop, eurodance or eurorap track, people. Spread the word!
Hungary: Zséda Debuts "Legyen úgy" Clip
Hungary's Zséda is new to me but she's certainly not new to fans in Budapest. The singer has been around for a decade or so in various bands (including one act named White Chocolate). For the past few years she's been solo, and the singer has just released a video for her latest, "Legyen úgy." The tune was written by Geszti Péter and it's from her fifth record. If all the songs from her latest record are as good as "Legyen úgy," I may have to buy it. Really a tight pop song and eye-catching clip. Bonus: there's an amazing sax solo at the end that might make Lady Gaga jealous.
