Fantastique French Trance Pop: The Stereo Flow's New "All The Things You Do"
Ready for a simply fantastic under-the-radar new track? Good. Because Paris/Los Angeles based duo The Stereo Flow are gonna give it to you. The act just released a video for their new song "All The Things You Do" and the promo features a singer we knew was a true talent in early 2011 when we met her for an interview here (that sadly never ran) in Los Angeles, England's Shirin. Perfect understated pop-leaning house/trance track to showcase the singer, who we like better than Dev, by the way. Looks like this new video was shot in Paris and we may have to buy the debut disc from The Stereo Flow, entitled Electro Magnetic Love Reaction. Really dreamy new tune. Check it below.
Francophone Fantastique: Meet Montréal's Garlics ("Tout Ce Que T'es Pour Moi")
If you happen to be a French Canadian or Parisian record executive, you may want to have a look and listen below. The Garlics are three teenagers from Montréal and their latest clip showcases how the band can master several styles of music. They could and should be heard in France. Quebec's large Francophone scene has spawned a lot of great alternative acts and artier folk groups but I haven't heard too many major label ready power pop acts from the provence like this trio. Their rock stuff isn't quite as original sounding as this and I only pray they stay true to their roots and continue to sing en Francias as they do with such great chemistry as the song below exemplifies. Check it out below.
Romanian/Canadian Collab: Take It Easy
Here's a great new pop offering from Bucharest-born artist (though it looks like he grew up in between Geneva and L.A.) Keo called "Take It Easy." The song was actually co-produced by well-known American Rob Wells (Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Mika etc). But this clip is pretty much all Romania...uploaded by Roton records and shot inside MediaPro Studios in Buftea. Anyway, the vocalist is a Canadian singer/artist named Dru. The dancers in the video are Romanian, including Mădălina Pamfile and Agnes Matoko. Interesting song and well-done video, directed by Alex Ceauşu. Check it below. (h/t devoratormonden)
Canada+France+Romania = Mia Martina
Canada is turning out to be a goldmine of Europop lately. Who knew such gems were just north of the U.S. border? I've covered Mia Martina on this blog before and now she's back with a new single and video, "Burning." The main English version of the song dropped last week, but a few days ago Mia released the French version of the song and it's even better somehow. The thing that most fascinates me about Mia, however, is the fact she is mining the 'Romanian sound' that has made stars out of names like Inna and Alexandra Stan, yet she's from a small town in Canada. Mia even enlisted Bucharest-based producer Adrian Sina for a track off her debut album (called "Go Crazy"). But "Burning" souds even more Romanian than "Go Crazy" (it was also produced by a lesser known Romanian guy, Ovidiu Bistriceanu), and it's not bad at all. Check it below.
Kristina Maria + Corneille's Hot "Co-Pilot"
Oh, Canada. What would we do without you? Just by accident found this great new song and clip out of Québec called "Co-Pilot" and it's a must-share. Corneille is from Montréal. Kristina Maria is from Ottawa. Together they are heating up the 514 area code this winter with a new-this-month video shot in Montreal partially at the Palais des Congrés. I simply cannot stop listening to this one at the moment. The tune is half in English and half in French. But it's all electro-pop goodness and you are going to like it, trust me.
