Swiss Guy Bligg Takes "Manhattan" In Clip

Did you know there's a top 40 hit in Switzerland at the moment called "Manhattan?" You do now. Anyway, earlier this month, Switzerland's Bligg released a video for his track that's been popular in Switzerland a while now, and it's kind of slick. No shots of Manhattan in the video, but there are some ace dance moves and a bizarre plot of sorts. One of the coolest parts of this song is the old school Beastie Boys sample ("The New Style"). Check it out below. Catchy song.

Why is there a Swiss guy singing about Manhattan? The answer is actually pretty interesting, but unfortunately it's completely impossible to find or if you don't speak swiss german.
“Man hat an” in german means as much as “peoples are wearing”. The song itself is about style, and that some peoples have it, and some don’t. “Man hat en” in swiss gearman means as much as “you have it” and it’s actually pronounced pretty much the same way as Manhattan.
So the whole thing is actually a word play, and the song itself doesn’t have anything to do with New York. (Except probably that the peoples which live in Manhattan do have a lot of style. :-)
