Romanian's Random "All My People" Clip

Hey did you know there's a guy in Romania named Sasha Lopez? Well, there is. Today he released a video for "All My People." It's hard to narrow down what the best part of this video is, but I'm prettty sure it has to be the random naked girls playing guitar. I'm going to be in Bucharest in May and I hope to understand this crazy optimistic music from Romania once and for all. Also, isn't it winter? Never mind...summer is almost here...you'll see what I mean below.

Prepare to be amazed at all the luxury cars, shops, clubs and women in a rather dull and unattractive city. Apart from few sights, it's all mostly grey cement everywhere. Trust me, you will be amazed, clubs and venues service in general is top notch in Bucharest and pretty much all Romania. But then come the bad things; bad neighborhoods, bad people and bad luck. Stay away from all that. Try to go visit places with a trusted local whenever possible, and when alone, try to blend in and keep a low profile. Don't flash cameras, expensive cell phones or valuable jewelery. Never carry a lot of currency with you either foreign or local or at least be weary of showing it. It's a good idea to never show your wallet when paying for stuff, just have some local currency in another pocket.

Oh and almost forgot. Taxi drivers. biggest.cons.ever. Don't be surprised if you hear 50€ or more in quotes for a run downtown. Especially airport ones. Those are the worst. Try to have someone pick you up from there, and always share a cab with a local. If not possible go to option 2: bargain beforehand. Asking for a meter run is futile, most will just refuse to take you.

I hope this doesn't scare you, it's just tips from a local! This isn't Johannesburg or New Mexico, you're not gonna get shot in a drive-by at noon! but petty theft is pretty common, and tourists ARE the attraction. I really hope you have a great time and share a good experience about my country though!

And like I said before, just a big thank you for this blog! I find it all kinds of awesome.
