Germany's Unstoppable Pop Act: R.I.O.
Been trying hard to not write about R.I.O. because the act is only half German, but R.I.O. is just becoming too big this winter to not cover. The dance/pop project was founded by Deutsch producers Manuel Reuter (Manian) and Yann Peifer (Yanou) in 2007. R.I.O’s lead singer is a born-in-England dude named Neal Antone (known as "Tony T"). This fall, he and an American guy living in Germany U-Jean had a smash with "Turn This Club Around," which is a rip off of DJ Antoine. Now, Manuel, Yann, Tony T and U-Jean are back with a new single and video, and guess what? It's a rip off of Avicii! The song is called "Animal" and there are few hotter tunes in Germany at the moment than this one, check it below (video just out a few days ago). Catchy offering, just a shame it's not more original.
