Czech Please: DJ Wich Wins W/ New Clip
Earlier this month I wrote an article for CNN about the rise of "Eurohop." This released-last-week offering by Prague's DJ Wich is not explicitly Eurohop the way DJs such as David Guetta practice the emerging genre, but it does represent one element of what I mention in my story: the pairing of credible American rappers/singers with European talent. In this clip, one of my favorite San Francisco rappers (Rasco) joins DJ Wich in a slick promo (filmed by an all Czech crew). Together, they are The Untouchables. Check out "Now Who's Laughing" below (great track with an old school Gang Starr feel plus a nice Rakim sample). I really hope to see more cross Atlantic collaborations such as this in 2011. Europe has the best DJs, America has the best rappers. End of story.
